As a new mom, I am constantly thinking of projects or activities that I can do with my son as soon as he is old enough. I know I'm a little early since he is only 7 months old and is really only interested in putting everything in his mouth but with all the great ideas out there I am starting my mental archive now!
I love the idea of helping my son find his creative side by offering him new activities and projects to do while we are home together. I have made a promise to myself that I will not let the television entertain him all day long. Besides isn't it my job as his mother to create wonderful childhood memories?
So having said all that, I recently ran across Homemaking Fun and again wow is all I can say! What a devoted mother to create a theme for story time including games, food and activities.
I was especially impressed with her Dr. Seuss day in celebration of Dr. Seuss' birthday on Tuesday. The Curious George story time was pretty darn cute too. As a monkey lover, I must do this with my son one day!
What a wonderful way to celebrate motherhood and your children everyday. Kudos and thanks for the inspiration!
Here is a picture of my little monkey and I when he was just a few months old. Please excuse the no make up, rolled outta bed, Sunday morning look. This is one inspired mommy!
I am so flattered. Thank you for all of your kind words. I love being a mom, it is so much fun! Your son is adorable!!!

ReplyDeleteGreat post, Debbie! I'm like you...always thinking of ways to bring out Ian's creative side. Ian watches an hour of TV a week at most...and it shows. You're not the only one who doesn't want to use the TV as a babysitter! I read the other day that the average parent interacts with their child one on one for approx. 10 minutes a day. It blows my mind. They're missing out on so much!
