Ozzie Learned How to Crawl!

It's been a great month for our little guy! In the weeks between 6 and 7 months, Ozzie has said his first words, cut his 1st and 2nd tooth and yesterday he crawled for the first time!!

Long story short, I just received some curtains that I was anxiously awaiting from overstock.com and was a little too excited about my package because I was kind of ignoring Ozzie. I set him down on the floor next to me and was deeply involved in my new purchase.

Then out of the corner of my eye, I saw him crawling towards his old bouncy chair that he has outgrown. I guess he really loves that chair because he headed right for it all on his own. Needless to say I started screaming and hollering with excitement. I was shocked because he has never military crawled before and was barely creeping on his tummy. In fact, the only thing he's done, other than rolling, is get on all fours and rock back and forth. Crawling was quite a jump!

It took me all of 1.2 seconds to pick him up, run to the phone, call Oscar at work, tell him what happened, ask where the video camera was, get a quick tutorial on how to use the dang thing (I'm not really technologically inclined but that's why I married big O!) and take him back into the living room to crawl on video. Thank goodness the batteries were charged.

As you can see I had to entice him with my phone. I'll tell you, that kid loves my phone! It's shiny and has lights and all he wants to do is eat it. Or maybe it's because he sees Mommy on it all day long. I'm kind of addicted to my Blackberry. It's my passage to the outside world when I'm home alone with him all day long. The guy who thought it was a good idea to give me access to my email and the internet on a portable handheld device is my hero.

I digress, back to the crawling. It was pretty darn amazing and we are just so proud of our little monkey and all of his milestones lately. These past couple of months have flown by and parenthood is getting more and more fun each day.
